I began as a boy, born of humble means to a rural farming community. Surrounded by the beautiful nature that is Finland. My love of animals and all things living gave me a great desire to become a veterinarian. While other boys were obsessed by cars and motors, I found myself reading nature guides and learning the scientific names of the local flora and fauna. I devoured any and all information of the world around me. One day my adventures led me to a flower shop in my village. Once I laid foot inside the flower shop, any and all ideas of becoming a veterinarian left me, and I became quickly immersed in the world of floristry. There was no turning back. This was to become my destiny.
The course of my life has led me to many places. I have adventured the world over, and in each place I find myself touched by the local culture, traditions and botanical history. With each and every new discovery my world view expands. The world opens up to me, inspires me and creates in me a new point of view which ultimately enriches my work.
My professional life has been infinitely affected by my history, my travels and my ever changing world view. They have caused me to push the envelope, demand of myself more and more, reinventing myself with every new revelation
