He has been widely known to say: "Flowers don't have to be expensive to be exciting!" A veteran panel designer, educational instructor, international jury & judge, JR has been featured as main stage show designer and as magazine cover page story for both FTDA and Teleflora wire service companies, and traveled to most major American cities and overseas for his design enhancement seminars. He instituted the first FTD USA endorsed show in Far East Asia and was commended for his artistic contribution to the Los Angeles Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee. Because of his illustrious and successful career in floral competitions, FTDA granted him a lifetime tribute to re-title their annual design competition as "THE JR NOCON CUP - Designer of the Year Awards" to serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to aspiring floral designers.
