Tradename is the commercial name under which a variety is sold. Often referred to as the "variety name". Sometime the name is officially trademarked.

"denomination" is the generic name given by the breeder and must be used by anyone who markets the variety.

The commercial status of a product show whether a variety is still in a code (testing) phase or sold commercially already to growers.
