Asocolflores, The Association of Colombian Flower Exporters, represents those flower farmers who manage nearly 75% of Colombia’s total flower exports. It bringstogether over 240 affiliate crops situated around the Bogota Savannah, in the Rionegro, Antioquia, the old Caldas and Valle del Cauca regions.
Asocolflores was created in 1973 as a non-profit guild organization, to represent and promote the flower growing industry on international markets and attain comprehensive floriculture development, mainly in aspects dealing with access to markets, research, transport, the Florverde socio-environmental seal of certification and various social responsibility programs, for the purpose of improving the quality of life of the workers and their families, and various sectors of the population regarded as vulnerable.
Asocolflores is extremely active at the national and international levels on behalf of the Colombian flower farmer. In Colombia, it takes part in several business organizations in both public and private sectors. Internationally, Asocolflores is a member of the most important floriculture representative organizations. In each of theses, our Association promotes Colombian flowers competitiveness on worldwide markets.
