During the event Beyond Imagination, held from 21th till 29th November 2011, a large number of floral arrangements was presented, both inside and outside the monastery. Stef Adriaenssens (designer) was assisted by more than forty florists from eight different countries in creating unique works. In this article, we will pay attention to the striking piece of art named Flaming Grass, decorated with lots of Chrysanthemums.
The audience was particularly enthusiastic about the Flaming Grass, designed by Stef Adriaenssens. It’s a modern and surprising composition, where red and yellow/orange Santini’s Lexy and Lexy Red were used. Stef: “The choice for these Chrysanthemums was easily made. Their beautiful colours perfectly symbolize the autumn season. They also symbolize fire, have a good shelf life and subtle shapes.“
The surface of the arrangement consists of a steel construction to offer stability for the four meters high arrangement. Animal wiring was used for the steel construction, wherein oasis blocks are incorporated. These blocks are filled up with the little Santini pompons, which make this arrangement a quite unique work!
