Europa Cup 2011 Havirov, Day 1, Johann Obendrauf

Task 1: Symphony in Blooms
Love of one’s native country, closeness to nature, joie de vivre: you can discover all this in my work.

On the one hand, Dvorak, but above all the strength, the temperament and the energy of Slavonic dances are my sources for inspiration.

Task 2: The Youngest City
By the symbolic power of the material and the color. It is important to know the background to feel it. The Gerbera is part of the colored message.

I have great respect for what nature gives us, and I appreciate every unnoticed plant in its own way. I see the beauty in all of them and I investigate their purpose and meaning. With love for design and floral art, it is always an honor for me to form and design the material my own way. In my basic design for this creation you will also find apparently worthless things with enormous symbolic value.

What is innovative floral art? Is it respect for the material, is it the way of combining flowers into a whole, the involvement with a theme, the optimal care of the flower? Is it the general impression or just a detail that counts? Or is the solution not simply skillfully implemented from daily life to create an optimal environment for the flower, or is it simply everything? The points of view are endless.

Task 3: Bridal Bouquet in the colours of EC 2011-logo
Unless it turns out differently, I will design an English drop. I think that the decision to get married is a courageous, classic declaration of love, rooted in tradition and a way to show a bond with one’s partner. I also think that the wedding bouquet should be in accordance with this view and that the workpiece is a declaration of love to the classic handicraft.

For a classic lady with a sense of beauty and tradition
