Europa Cup Havirov, Day 1, Natalia Zhizhko - Russia

Symphony in blooms
Music and flowers are beautiful in themselves and create an atmosphere of harmony around and inside us. In my works I try to catch the feelings aroused by listening to or perceiving beauty.

I have been listening to Antonin Dvoák and was looking for the material that could render this music. Natural stones with their beauty and harmonic colour combinations became my source of inspiration, setting the pattern for the whole work. The harmony of colour combinations, created by nature in flowers and colours hanging in the air…

A young city is the city that keeps moving and developing, searching for its style. Youth is the time for search and experimentation and I think that the architecture of a young city can develop in a modern direction and form its new face. The Gerbera is a clean, clear and simple flower and it is the flower that sets the style for this whole work.

A clear, light, ethereal work. I wanted to create an effect of air bubbles rising from the sand and flying up into the sky. It is achieved by the shape, by the choice of the material for the construction and the choice of colours.

In this work the design is the innovative element. The design creates the atmosphere and sets the stylistics of the interior. The design of the table is developed to match the interior of a public place and is a robust element of it. The design is based on visualizing natural phenomena embodied in a clear, modern form and adapted for industrial use. Floral objects are the basic elements of the décor and create atmosphere. What do we miss in a city? Oxygen, light and plants. This kind of floral design lets us forget about the megalopolis and feel closer to nature.

Bridal Bouquet in the colours of EC 2011-logo.
What can you tell us about your bridal bouquet? Which techniques did you use?
Bridal bouquets are my favourite theme. I have prepared several and will make my choice for the competition at the very last moment. But this will be a bouquet based on natural materials and using an interesting technique.
Can you describe the personality of the bride you made this bouquet for?
A pretty young girl.

I guess all my friends who are florists and who are interested in it will be there with me at that moment, so probably I will call my Mom.
