From Coal to Blooms

What do you think about the connection of flowers and coal? What kind of flowers would you combine with the coal?
Coal is burned wood; wood is a natural element; what could be closer than to combine these two materials. In terms of colour, it's up to the statement you want to make with this work. Ultimately, this symbiosis of both materials can give a lot of creative freedom.
Whose work do you admire (in floral design, but also in fields of art, design, movies, music, etc.)?
Music is my inspiration; especially because it works well as a compliment to floral arrangements. Together they form a harmonious pack through which the expression of the design is reinforced. For me, nature comes first, it gives us the forms and movements with which we can play. A very interesting part is the art design factor; here you can always find new ideas in terms of finding new structures and textures with which you can then experiment in combination with the floral material. It is then even more charming, to weave these two elements – nature and design – together to and create a whole new thing.
