Event 1: Floral Sculpture; The Amazon Rainforest.
The Amazon forest, to me, is the greatest representation of biodiversity in a global scale, and therein lies the widest variety of wildlife and flora and this makes up for one of the most important ecosystems that generates the global climate balance; for this reason, it is known as the “Earth’s lung”. In the Amazon forest there’s a great variety of flowers and animals whose entire classification has not all been done yet. It’s important to say that in the Amazon, there exists not only diversity in flora and wildlife; but also cultures, dialects and ethnics.
My relation with the Amazon forest has been direct; considering my country, Colombia, has a large part of it and emphasizes the importante of it’s preservation; but in my region there’s a permeability of it’s culture in the place and recognize in a large scale the biodiversity of it. With this creation, I Intend to represent the Amazon forest with it’s all imposing and reveal my design in a clean way, using typical materials around the Amazon forest.
I used technics such as parallels, crusaders, tissues and “cascada”, crowds, one above the other. For the creation process, I invested nearly 2 months which included the design and the structure making process.
Surprise Item - Floral Garden nature and art in miniature.
My first thought was about an opportunity to realize one of my life-long dreams.
It’s an structured arrangement, it has an spiral structure and the bottom of it is a multidirectional vegetation.
Kalanchoes, Roses, Lilies, Chavela, Hortencia and foliage.
Yes, because of the time; I wasn’t sufficiently prepared to bring out the entire creation.
