Event 1: Floral Sculpture; The Amazon Rainforest
Please give us your vision of the theme The Amazon Rainforest. What is your personal connection with The Amazon Rainforest? What do you want us to remember about this creation?
The Amazon jungle is the lungs of the planet, the fact that I can breathe connects me to it. The importance of preserving the natural wealth of our jungle.
What do you consider to be the typical flowers and plants from The Amazon Rainforest; the products must be commercial and available for your daily work.
Orchids, heliconias and the Victoria Regia. Cultivated orchids and heliconias should be, yes.
Which techniques did you use and why? And how much time did the preparations cost?
I’m not sure yet; because of my short attendance time I haven’t been able to prepare much.
What were your first thoughts when you knew you would attend The Americas Cup?
To demonstrate the standard of my work and aspire to winning the title.

Please tell us something about your creation.
My arrangement was borne out of the natural growth of flowers and respects the natural characteristics of each plant.
When you think about a Floral Garden, which plants or flowers come to mind?
Just like the way a flower garden is, very many flower varities come to mind.

Was it difficult creating a miniature arrangement?
No, after seeing the materials the only thing I did was try to recreate them in a natural way.
