Assignments Interflora World Cup - Cherrie MaiHoa, Vietnam

At the second day the designers have to make two assignments. The first is a table arrangement, named 'Green Tea for Two'. On a round table they have to create their masterpiece in two hours time, taking into account that the maximum height is two meters. The second preliminary event is a bridal bouquet with no size restrictions, but obviously the 'Oriental Pearl Bride' must still be able to carry the designers creation.

Calm environment, still waters, but with the vigor to move up.

Who would you like to invite for a cup of tea at your table setting? And why?

Anyone who enjoys my work and would like share his/ her feelings. Friendship starts from a cup of tea and a small chit chat.

What level of standards should products used in table settings meet? Which choices have you made?

Flowers, and plants and greenery that can be picked from my backyard.Bamboo: durable, bendable , can be in different shapes with the right treatment.Succulent: texture, easy to blend in with others, long-lasting,Orchids and Anthurium: create movements with its delicated lines and curves"

Cherrie: "My table setting is also based on the concepts of the five typical natural elements: metal, water, fire, earth and plant."

Which techniques did you use? And why?

I used my skills in handicraft; the same skills I learnt and use to make a living since i was 15 years old: to weave, to tie and to thread

What made you choose the specific products and/or varieties you used for this bridal bouquet?

Orchids: for its own delicated and classy beauty
hypericum: as the gems
Lily grass: for it long and durable shape, can be used to tie or to weave. "
