Assignments Interflora World Cup - Bjorn Kroner, Germany
The first event, Designers Choice is themed "Flowers on the Orient". Contestants will complete a design up to 1.2 metres deep and wide and 2.25 metres high within 2 hours.
On the same day they will have their artistic flair tested again with a "Surprise Item" which they will complete in just over an hour. This is an exciting test of how spontaneous these designers from around the world can be with only 15 minutes to view the various items presented to them and create something amazing.
Flowers on the Orient
The name states everything. To me, it says the work has to be colorful, mystic, ornamental .... there has to be a depth in the work. I see a market in the Orient .... and try to catch this emotions in my work. Like going around a corner and seeing something totally different new. What is important to me is that you can see on a second view; new things, new flowers, structures, textures...."

My team and friends always tell me that I love working with Ornaments, so I always say, the Ornaments and color combination are what makes it typically my design. I love to work with bright and colorful material and flowers.

Araik: "For this Surprise item I wanted to focus on the contemporary aspect. I was thinking of a sophisticated shop which is also clean and clear. In this item I wanted to show elegance and glamour. The structure is important as well as the height of this arrangement. Even by placing this item in the back of the store, everyone can see and enjoy because of the height of this creation."
