Assignments Interflora World Cup -Ni Zhi Xiang, China

At the second day the designers have to make two assignments. The first is a table arrangement, named 'Green Tea for Two'. On a round table they have to create their masterpiece in two hours time, taking into account that the maximum height is two meters. The second preliminary event is a bridal bouquet with no size restrictions, but obviously the 'Oriental Pearl Bride' must still be able to carry the designers creation.

Assignment 3 - Green Tea for Two

Please give us your vision on the theme "Green Tea for Two" in your table setting.

Green Tea for Two:
What in you and me is a shallow sea of green tea.
What in you and me is a deep breath of oriental Taiji.
When we hold the cup and look at each other.
The affection will be expressed unlimitedly.
Just as the beautiful flowers bloom.
In the bright moonlight.
The Green Tea for Two is for bosom friends.

Who would you like to invite for a cup of tea at your table setting? And why?

I would like to invite the President of Interflora and tell him all about the tea culture of China. Interflora is a big and international organisation and spreads flowers all over the world. This way I could spread the information about our tea culture all over the world.

What level of standards should products used in table settings meet? Which choices have you made?

The standard for this arrangement is the main colour green. For Green Tea for Two I didn't want to use expensive flowers, but I chose economical ones, since all flowers are beautiful. Regardless of money.

Other remarks you would like to make?

For this arrangement I also used white Magnolias, as that flower is one of the symbols of Shanghai City.

Assignment 4 - Oriental Pearl

Which techniques did you use? And why?

The circle in this creation represents the high speed development of the city Shanghai. Every piece of the circle in the arrangement is glued one by one. I added little elegant test-tubes for the flowers.

What made you choose the specific products and/or varieties you used for this bridal bouquet?

At the spot I decided the flowers I was going to work with. I wanted to feel the atmosphere at that very moment. I waited with my decision because the atmosphere at the spot will inspire and encourage me to create a more special and marvelous design.

I want to add information about my booth, as it expresses the theme of everything I made during this competition:
White is the color of dawn.
It has infinite hope.
Black is the color of night.
It has every possibility.
Red is the color of blood.
It shows the power of passion.
For the hope and possibility.
Life is filled with emotion.
