Stef Adriaenssens turns church of Alden Biesen into a cathedral
Stef Adriaenssens sees it every time as a challenge to surpass himself. At Alden Biesen during the great flower arranging event, he surely succeeded!Together with a dedicated group of his pupils he decorated the church at the domain of Alden Biesen this year richly with pink Lisianthus and pink and purple orchids.

In the church a construction was built of steel which had to be self supporting because it was not allowed to put even a single nail into the antique walls. At a great height of about 12 mtrs, pieces were weld together and branches were attached to it to conceal the construction. In the branches small vases with water were tied and filled with the Lisianthus. The total construction weighed about a tonne!
Since the shape of the church is so symmetric, Stef went for an asymmetric design. Apart from the bow over the altar, several other half bows were made in the church and the small altars were decorated with creations of orchids. With all these rich decorations the church got the allure of a cathedral! The visitors were utterly amazed and had their mouths agape with the beauty and glamour that was exhibited.
