Tulip Promotion Netherlands (TPN) organizes on January 18, 2020 the 9th edition of National Tulip Day, the official opening of the new cut tulip season. Consumers are invited to pick a bunch of tulips for free in a huge picking garden, right in front of the palace on Dam Square.
The theme "A World of Colors" is reflected in, among other things, the special, colorful garden design. In total, almost 20,000 people are expected from around 100 different countries. Before the gates of the picking garden open, the immense sea of flowers can be admired from a viewer bridge.
TPN chairman and tulip forwarder Arjan Smit: “Besides a unique place to make colorful selfies, the picking garden on Dam Square is a positive event: a cheerful and fraternizing meeting where everyone is welcome. Regardless of cultural origin, orientation or belief. With the theme "A World of Colors" we want to emphasize this. "TPN is currently working on implementing the program. Smit: “Together with my colleague tulip forcers and breeders, we are already fully working on the preparations for National Tulip Day. With applications for permits, logistics, garden design, partners, POS material for florists and retailers, but also with the special interpretation of the theme and some surprises. ”
National Tulip Day is an initiative of around 500 Dutch tulip foragers (TPN) and has been organized since 2012 on the third Saturday of January. Many florists, supermarkets and garden centers organize various promotions and activities in their stores around the start of the new cutting season. TPN provides POS material free of charge for support. Interested parties can contact us via tulippromotie.nl.
