Signing agreements for an accessible Aalsmeer
On Friday 8 March, the directors of the municipality of Aalsmeer, the province of North Holland, Royal FloraHolland and the Amsterdam Transport Region signed two cooperation agreements. One for a faster connection for freight traffic from Royal FloraHolland to Schiphol (Uninterrupted Logistic Connection) and one for a fast bus connection (High-quality Public Transport Legmeerdijk). Both projects can start with the signing of these agreements and thus give the Aalsmeer region an impulse to reach.

Faster bus via High-quality Public Transport Legmeerdijk (HOV)
The HOV Legmeerdijk project makes bus transport between Kudelstaart, Aalsmeer and Amstelveen more reliable and faster. The R-net bus lines 357 and 358 (between Kudelstaart and Amsterdam-zuid) now run over the Royal FloraHolland auction site. In the new situation, these will drive over Burgemeester Kasteleinweg and Legmeerdijk. There will also be a new stop at the Royal FloraHolland distribution corridor on Legmeerdijk. Stairs, lifts and a walkway over the N231 will be added to the stop. This location also fits in well with the new FloriWorld floriculture attraction (350,000 visitors per year), which is expected to be delivered before the summer of 2020. In addition, the new route ensures six minutes of driving time. Almost 2000 travelers benefit from this acceleration every day. The current bus stops on the Royal FloraHolland site will be canceled.
Uninterrupted Logistic Connection (OLV)
In addition to an acceleration and improvement of the bus lines, there will also be a new connection for freight traffic. With this new route, the Royal FloraHolland flower auction will connect better to the new N201. For this, a new entrance will be introduced to the East development area from Legmeerdijk (N231) and there will be a new exit from Royal FloraHolland via Green Park Aalsmeer via Middenweg to the N201.
Start work
Preparatory work will be carried out in the coming period. The municipality of Aalsmeer, the province of Noord-Holland, Royal FloraHolland and the Amsterdam Transport Region are working together on this accessibility boost for the region to improve mobility by road and public transport. The plan is that both projects will be ready by the end of 2022.
