F. Optimal Connection Market Review Week 42

The Head of Roses Department at Optimal Connection, Ishai Sharon, shed some light on current performance of the flower market.
“Unfortunately, from week 37, prices were quite low for the entire market especially for roses. When we compare this period to the years before, it remains the worst yet.”
Ishai explains that higher temperatures in Europe and a large quantity of roses were the main reason for this dip in prices.
Ishai deduces from his assessment that we have to analyze more and need to look further into the season. In his expert opinion there is some correlation between low costs, cheap vacations and demand for flowers.
“The consumer prefers to spend more money on vacations, he is out of home longer and purchases less flowers!” he says.
He is however optimistic that temperatures in Europe are getting lower and he hoped for more demand in sales from 1st of November during All Saints day.
