FSI Benchmarking and basket transition 2018-2020
As announced during the FSI General Assembly at IPM Essen last January FSI is moving forward by adding improved environmental practices to our agenda.

We have started integrating next steps towards and after 2020. From 1 January 2020, sustainable production under the FSI will be defined according to the combined benchmarks on agricultural, social and environmental practice. Growers can demonstrate good practice with one or more certifications covering these three dimensions. In order to stimulate sector change, from 1 January 2019, schemes that already pass the new benchmark for environmental practice can be added to the updated FSI Basket of Standards.
Through this additional environmental dimension, the development of the standardized record-keeping methodology combined with tests to establish the correctness and completeness of the records, FSI aims to support growers, scheme owners, traders and retailers with a holistic approach improving sustainable practices.
