De Ruiter Yellow Roses - Livening up Easter and Spring Season

Easter is normally associated to the start of spring in Europe; and is also a Christian holiday in celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. 

With Easter in mind the breeder De Ruiter introduces some interesting yellow variety combinations. Colours are an important part of spring, with fresh leaves & wild flowers springing from their dormant winter state. With the radiance of these yellow rose varieties, it’s a time to liven up homes & businesses and to start appreciating the outdoors once again.

De Ruiter’s new yellow variety called “Basanti” is a vibrant, clean premium yellow variety with 5.5+ bud size & good length. Basanti is an Indian name meaning “girl born during the spring”. The variety fully opens on the vase with around 14-18 days of vase life. Since this variety is planted just 5-6 months before, there is a limited supply of this variety in market.

Sonrisa® and Tribute® are successful high producing retail varieties from De Ruiter. They have a noticeable striking colour making them an ideal addition to the bouquet mix. De Ruiter has been trialling the variety Sonrisa® on PRO-7 rootstock since last couple of years. Results show that, it gets more stem length as well as slightly bigger head size compared to Natal Brier.
