GreenBalanZ and Fresco Flowers Greenovation Award winners

Royal FloraHolland presents the Greenovation Award in recognition of sustainability initiatives in the horticultural sector. The winner for Best Concept Pure Orchids of GreenBalanZ from Kudelstaart. The award for Best Article has been awarded to Eco Flowerbag Fresco Flowers in Aalsmeer. The audience voted on nominations by a jury. The presentation by Lucas Vos, CEO Royal Flora Holland, took place on the second day of the Fair.

The jury assessed all submissions. In the breeding of Pure Orchids GreenBalanZ uses only natural and organic protective nutrients. Since 2014 the company has a SKAL certified organic cultivation. The plant is also edible. GreenBalanZ uses "gas-free greenhouses" where the summer heat is stored that is used in the winter.

Fresco Flowers waste used as a valuable raw material. The Eco Flowerbag developed with Kras Recycling. It is a luxury carrying flowers. There is easy to use and protect the flowers. The product is made from 100% recycled packaging for flowers. The jury: "It's nice to see that waste into a new useful product."
