The theme for the 2017 edition of FleurAmour Passion for Flowers flower design event was ‘CULTURE’; where participating florists created floral expressions through the worldview and way of life of a people, and also through other values, customs and traditions of certain cultures.
The event is traditionally held at the Commandery of Alden Biesen and features an impressive display of amazing and inspiring floral decorations. This is the 22nd edition of FleurAmour Passion for Flowers which saw many renowned florist drawn from various countries participating.
Tasked with decorating the Lower Bottom of the Castle was floral designer Angelica Lacarbonara. Angelica's idea and project was called The Four Seasons of Antonio Vivaldi. In making the arrangement, she was assisted by six florists from different regions of Italy who had attended her school. This was an opportunity for Angelica's students to enjoy some hands-on work experience. These Italian florists were Michela Torti, Daniela Marchetti, Roberta Travaglia, Beatrice Virgili, Cristina Cosso, Laura Morelli.
The idea was born from the theme of Fleramour 2017, the ethnic group. My Italian is, in all its shades, music, fashion, art, food, history, etc., there are thousands of things for which this nation is lived by the Italian and foreign people.
Classical music therefore fascinates me with thinking of transforming the work of Vivaldi into floral. The four seasons speak of the nature of metamorphosis, of well-defined quarters, but linked by the passage.
This project is completely executed with plant products, a challenge, green flowers, vegetable products and transparency.
Every time there is no specific reason. This is because it is always a test every time I decide to participate, the challenge is the challenge of Angelica Vs Angelica.
Step by Step making of "THE FOUR SEASONS OF ANTONIO VIVALDI"
THE SUMMER STRUCTURE
The summer structure was designed in a large three-dimensional basket. Angelica and her team made the basket with a number of aluminum rims covered with natural rays.
Each circle was attached to each other to create the base. They used oasis flutes to hold the flowers inside. In addition to the Porta Nova roses they used oncidium stems, glorious, setaria and rose berries to truly represent summer colors. The initial structure was 4 semicircles made out of iron.
THE AUTUMN STRUCTURE
The Autumn Structure made with mulberry branches has been totally tied to the engraving technique with the help of the animated string.
Angelica and her team aimed at getting a basket with 4 different measuring tips, and inserting other flowers to give depth and value to pink, in autumn colors. They used Sanguisorba stems, Porta Nova roses, setaria and cambria.
The bouquet was made with Porta Nova Red Naomi rose petals to create a bigger flower. Lacquer of the petals were used, with hookah hooks and silver spiral silver wire to create a nice cascade.
Each petal was tied in seam without glue with the big black flower that would make the structure being made using the very thin and varnished black technical iron. Angelica then added some crystals for elaborate decoration.
