A Growing demand for Royal De Ruiter Rose Varieties

"The continuity of supply into the Middle Eastern markets has seen increasing demand for Reds and Whites both of T-Hybrid premium quality and boosting good vase life. Currently in Dubai, there has been a growing demand towards the roses Rhodos, Ever Red and Proud," says Edward Manning, MD at Royal De Ruiter East Africa.
"American and Canadian markets have seen increased demand for both Rhodos and Pink Rhodos with development demand for soft pinks such as Wham and Celeb. Australia has seen interest levels in Ever Red increasing significantly as the discerning client requesting that much more in unlocking the beauty of Ever Red," adds Edward.

FIVE magnificent De Ruiter pinks for Mother's Day
A striking and beautifully presented pink rose with good characteristics. High altitude production performance for Opala stands at an average 130 while production at low altitude attains an average 180. Head-size is altitude dependable but boasts 5 in 1900 and 6+ in high altitude areas. Opala’s stem-length is predominantly 60cm average and has a case life performance of up to 16 days. Wham has an average stem-length of 70-100cm and bud between 5-5.5cm. Rose growers would be pleased to know that Wham® is a good producer with an average production range of 140-160 in the Naivasha altitude.
London Eye is a new garden shaped pink proving to be a high end market novelty product. The rose has a good case life and exhibits good resistance to pests and diseases. Production for London Eye is 130 with an average head-size of 5cm and average stem length of 50+.
With the current high demand for rose varieties with good head-size, the well established pink rose Celeb enjoys excellent marketability. Celeb attains 5+ head-sizes in an altitude of 1900; being grown and sold exclusively through Fontana Expressions and Bliss Flora.
Pink Rhodos® has a unique shade of Pink and grows a large attractive head with an average size of 5cm at 1700m altitude. The rose is currently being handled by Optimal Connection in Aalsmere as the primary agent. The rose is a good choice for rose growers in high altitude areas. The stemlength can reach 80cm and above while the vaselife is an average 15 days.
