I LOVE GREEN - TRAINING DAY AT IPM ESSEN 2017: PRACTICE INSTEAD OF DRY THEORY
In 2017, too, the "green associations" will, with Messe Essen, implement their activities in the canvassing of the up-and-coming generation at the International Plant Fair in Essen. They will again invite visitors to the Training Day and will make training a subject. From 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, the motto in the South Congress Centre will again be "I LOVE GREEN - Training Day". At the event, pupils from Classes 8, 9 and 10 at mainstream schools will be provided with extensive information about the gardener and florist occupations.

Experts will inform the guests about the gardening or floristry training and will give the young people tips and brief insights into the diversity of the "green sector". Short films will put the visitors in the right mood and will make them curious about what makes the training in horticulture and floristry so attractive. Practice instead of dry theory. On ten special practice stations, any interested pupils will be able to experience in a playful way what things are dealt with in the training.
Everything will be there – from the balcony box plants or a plant quiz to the handling of various shears in the nursery. Skill will be demanded for leaf blower minigolf. The range on offer for the pupils and the teachers will be rounded off by a pupil quiz and the Info Lounge with the possibility of obtaining intensive information about the training occupations.
In addition to the pupils, important multipliers such as not only careers advisers from the individual Employment Agency districts in North Rhine-Westphalia but also teachers will be addressed on the Training Day. The great interest in recent years shows that, for pupils, this event is an important constituent of their orientation when choosing occupations.
With the support of the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Agriculture, the Central Horticultural Association (ZVG) and Messe Essen, the North Rhine-Westphalia State Horticultural Association, the North Rhine-Westphalia Association for Horticulture, Landscaping and Sports Field Construction, the Provincial Association of Fruit and Vegetable Growers in the Rhineland Area as well as the Trade Association of German Florists - Federal Association are inviting people to this event for canvassing the up-and-coming generation.
