Record number of visitors to Royal FloraHolland Trade Fair 2016
The number of visitors to the Trade Fair in Aalsmeer was higher than ever before this year. Over the three days the trade fair was visited by 16,000 people. Here is a review of those days. Compared with last year 1000 more visitors came to the Trade Fair in Aalsmeer. The stands were amazing and are getting more professional and more beautiful each year. The passion for flowers and plants simply radiated from them.

Positive mood
The atmosphere was overwhelmingly positive. Reactions from visitors and standholders confirmed this impression. Growers, dealers and buyers found each other easily, and everyone was feeling optimistic about the future of our sector. The social media channels also glowed with positive messages. On Twitter The Trade Fair was today's 'trending topic'. So much attention for such an interesting fair!
Royal FloraHolland House well attended
Both buyers and growers visited the Royal FloraHolland House to learn about the latest innovations and market developments and be inspired about the theme: 'The Future is NOW!' Every day there were different presentations which were well attended.
The highlight was the presentation by Rik Vera about digitisation and the opportunities it brings. But the meeting with the startups from the new innovation platform 'Let it Grow' and the presentation about 'The World in 2050' were also surprising and bursting with energy and innovation. The Hana Ike battle provided some floritainment at the fair. In this battle, Japanese arrangers competed against Dutch florists. It was an amazing spectacle, with its emphasis on speed, creativity and innovation.
