Royal De Ruiter East Africa receives Top 100 Companies Award
For the fourth year in a row, Royal De Ruiter East Africa Ltd has been named among Kenya’s Top 100 mid-sized companies. With a century of breeding experience globally & over 20 years in Kenya, De Ruiter is the oldest rose breeder in East Africa.

The company has recently been striving to increase its market share in the low altitude T-Hybrid varieties and feels it has created enough synergy at this level with +5cm head sizes, +60cm stem lengths, excellent vase life performance, good pest & disease resistance & 140 stems p/sqm production figures.
De Ruiter (E.A) breeds bespoke rose varieties at its 4ha farm on the shores of Lake Naivasha which are then grown commercially on over 60 farms throughout Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia & newly emerging Rwanda. Steady growth in sales year on year see’s De Ruiter selling over 100ha of varieties annually.

Kenya’s top 100 mid-sized companies survey (Top 100 Survey) is an initiative of KPMG Kenya and Nation media group that seeks to identify Kenya’s fastest growing medium sized companies in order to showcase business excellence and highlight some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurships. The awards are a celebration of companies that have excelled in wealth and job creation in Kenya. This year’s Top 100 Gala Awards event was held October 7th at the Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.
