Dutch greenhouse technology for Iran
On Sunday May 8th Aad Verbakel signed a multi-million Euro contract with KSM Group in the presence of Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs and the Dutch Ambassador in Iran. This modern glass greenhouse with a surface of 20 hectares will be realized by VB Greenhouse Projects.

The greenhouse construction division of VB Group that signed for this impressive order was active in Iran before with several greenhouse projects until trade regulations came into force. VB has extensive experience in the design, supply and completion of large scale greenhouse projects on several continents. This year only the group of VB companies are actively working on greenhouse projects in China, Russia, Mexico and the USA.
This past weekend a group of 45 Dutch companies joined in a trade mission to Iran, among them Jilles Goedknegt and Aad Verbakel participated on behalf of VB Group. According to Aad Verbakel there are many market opportunities in Iran, but additional support is requested by the Dutch government and banks to actually seize these opportunities in this developing market. “We have signed a pre-contract for phase one to deliver a 20 hectare greenhouse completely executed with modern Dutch greenhouse technology. The total project is designed to become 80 hectares in surface. High end glass greenhouses and systems will be supplied to grow vegetables, flowers, strawberries. Also a greenhouse to grow young plants and plugs is included in this order.” said Verbakel.
Before the production of the materials can commence additional supports from Dutch banks is needed. “This contract is under the condition that Dutch banks will accept direct payments from Iran.”
The conditions for horticultural suppliers to do business in Iran are good. “With our Dutch knowledge and expertise we can provide valuable solutions and contribute to economic development in this fascinating country in the Middle East”, according to His Excellency Henk Kamp. Iran is an upcoming market and with Dutch technology VB Group is able to help Iran in finding solutions for producing food and flowers in a sustainable way.
