Olij Breeding and Jan Spek Rozen at IFTEX 2016
Olij Breeding and Jan Spek Rozen participated during this year's IFTEX show held June 8th - June 10th at the Oshwal Center in Nairobi. This period saw the breeders' stand at the show and the Olij Breeding showhouse in Naivasha abuzz with activity.

Olij has almost a century of experience in propagation of roseplants. Olij has delivered plants from different breeders in more than 100 countries. The produced planting material is a cutting or graft in rockwool or cocopeatsubstrate. The used rootstock is nearly always Natal Briar. Olij is testing on long term with a self developed rootstock named Popeye. Olij is known for its great expertise, its professional support and after sales with the delivery of plants.

Jan Spek Rozen is represented by Olij Breeding in East Africa, South-Africa, Poland and at other European and East European countries.




Revolution

Introduced last year commercially, Revolution has been very well received in the market. The flower was a choice for many during the Valentines season with her catchy red colour, good stem-length and beautiful classic opening. Revolution recorded very impressive numbers in direct sales through Pigeon Blooms. Monte Carlo

For many years, Monte Carlo by Jan Spek rozen has been regarded as one of the best Red roses in the market is well established on the auction as a premium flower. The rose has a large flowerhead and a beautiful velvet red that Monte Carlo grows long stems and has good production. This market dominance was also eveident during the Valentines period.

Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly is a beautiful Hot Pink rose and the first named mutation of the rose Monte Carlo. The rose has similar winning characteristics as Monte Carlo and proved to be quite the favorite during Valentines Day.

Arancio

Arancio is a deep Orange Intermediate Thybrid with a unique 'square shaped' flower. Arancio has a good vaselife and strong petals that make it a good transporter. The rose opens slowly and has a good stemlength of 40-80cm. Arancio is grown by Timaflor, Wildfire and Panocal farms. During the Valentines season, February 12th, Panocal International introduced Arancio on the clock in Floraholland Naaldwijk. in a commendable CSR move, income of the first sales of the flower went towards building a primary school at the premises of Panocal in Kenya.
