PLANTION IS EXPANDING ITS BOARD WITH A SALES DIRECTOR
Guus van Logtestijn joins the Plantion board of directors as of today. As the Sales Director, he will be responsible for commercial contracts with clients and suppliers, along with Managing Director Peter Bakker. The aspiration to offer a broader range will be the guiding principle. Van Logtestijn previously held the position of Sales Manager within the company. Plantion hopes to be able to better manage future challenges with a two-member board.

The expansion of the board is a logical step in Plantion’s growth. The five-year plan, implemented when the business expanded to the Ede site in 2010, has been successfully completed and culminated with a successful year in 2015 in which turnover increased by four percent and an excellent result was achieved.
Plantion expects the market place to grow further in the coming years. More and more clients are purchasing their products in Ede. Plantion seeks to serve them in the usual way, as well as to explore new opportunities. At the same time, the company’s ambition is to attract clients to Plantion from further afield. A prerequisite for success in this respect is to offer an appealing (deep and wide) range of fresh products every day, the whole year round.
In expanding the board, Plantion is also responding to indicators from internal and external research that greater priority should be placed on a strong connection with clients and suppliers. In addition, there are indications that a two-member board will better assure the continuity of Plantion as a market place. Tasks and responsibilities will be split between Peter Bakker and Guus van Logtestijn, with final accountability resting with Bakker.
