Day 1 Copa América: "Wedding in the Andes" by Natalia Kunicic

It was an exciting first day at the Copa América during the Proflora in Bogota.

Nine designers started the competition with a wedding assigment. "Wedding in the andes".

Day 1: First competition task: Wedding in the Andes

Competitors will make a wedding design for a traditional Colombian wedding in the Andean region. The arrangement will be the central piece for the chapel. The arrangement should be representative of the region.

The arrangement will be made in a vase. All floral material must be placed in floral foam.

The arrangement must be at least 1,5 meters high. This height includes the dimensions of the vase. There is no high restriction. Color is free.

Question 1: Explain what you did to make your wedding arrangement representative for the region?

I used leather, from the clothing of the region, creating a triangular shape representative of spirituality, a form that goes to the sky and also includes other elements such as water, air and fire.

Question 2: What materials and flowers did you use and why?

I used gerberas, anthuriums, delphiniums, orange helicons and orchids, among others.

Question 3: Describe the type of bride and groom who would fit perfectly your style of design. (Within the traditional style of an Andean wedding)
