Day 1 Copa América: "Wedding in the Andes" by Andrés Fernando Umaña Sepulveda
It was an exciting first day at the Copa América during the Proflora in Bogota.
Nine designers started the competition with a wedding assigment. "Wedding in the andes".

Day 1: First competition task: Wedding in the Andes
Competitors will make a wedding design for a traditional Colombian wedding in the Andean region. The arrangement will be the central piece for the chapel. The arrangement should be representative of the region.
The arrangement will be made in a vase. All floral material must be placed in floral foam.
The arrangement must be at least 1,5 meters high. This height includes the dimensions of the vase. There is no high restriction. Color is free.
With this floral design I wanted to represent the two thermal floors that we can find in the Colombian Andes, one of our perpetual snow snowy white represented by our forests and the other represented by the green color in its different shades, all this by creating a set representing greatly that unforgettable moment for a couple who will marry using the ideal colors for a wedding in the Andes.
The objevtiv for this floral design is to represent these two climatic zones of our Colombian geography, Snow White and the Green forest. For this I used material which could have a texture to represent the snow as well as Gladiolius flowers, roses, hydrangeas and green foliage as Cordeline, philoendrum and linen to represent our forests.
This design is perfect for a couple who likes tradition represented in white color, but wants to see a more modern design, where different types of flower textures and appreciate.
