Day 1 Copa América: "Wedding in the Andes" by Marco Antonio Sandoval Rodriguez
It was an exiting first day at the Copa América during the Proflora in Bogota.
Nine designers started the competition with a wedding assigment. "Wedding in the andes".

Day 1: First competition task: Wedding in the Andes
Competitors will make a wedding design for a traditional Colombian wedding in the Andean region. The arrangement will be the central piece for the chapel. The arrangement should be representative of the region.
The arrangement will be made in a vase. All floral material must be placed in floral foam.
The arrangement must be at least 1,5 meters high. This height includes the dimensions of the vase. There is no high restriction. Color is free.
For them, marriage is the perfect complement to a human being. Otherwise people would be incomplete. They are long holidays and abound in symbolism, including a very intense way the respect for elders and nature, the ideal place is in the midst of nature where the four elements, air, earth, water and fire are invoked. Part of its ritual they use water and flowers that symbolize that women should care for life, as the flowers. In my design I´ll try to represent these four elements.
Wind: Represented with white dendrobium orchids.
Earth: Branches and foliage.
Water: blue hydrangea and water in the container.
Fire: helicons and tropical.
I used these flowers and branches for its large and representative force. As well as the customs and traditions that are very strong and intense in the Andean region.
The traditional bride and groom who’s ideal place is nature, where to invoke the four natural elements.
