"Internal reflections" by Stijn Simaeys at FleurAmour 2015
During Fleuramour 2015 in Alden Biesen the floral designer Stijn Simaeys was asked to create a floral design work in the "Church" of the Castle of Alden Biesen.
"The Church" is one of the most prestige’s projects at Fleuramour and for the 20th anniversary Stijn was honored to decorate is for this special edition of Fleuramour.
Stijn has been a veteran in doing Fleuramour projects and together with is team of talented floral designers he got to work.

I started this project by choosing the music. (The National - I need my Girls)
I wanted to get the same repetition in my flower design. That is also the reason why I choose for the romatic natural flowers.
The serene church is a gorgeous location to place Floral design work.
I wanted to follow the ghotic shapes from the church back in my design.
I created round circles with the flowers shapes following their reflections in the water.
I like to work with all sorts of summerflowers because I want people to know more about them. There is such a rich assortment that people hardly know.
There is a group of passionate growers grouped together as "SUMMERFLOWERS" very passionate about their product and they were so kind to sponsor me the flower. They were delivered fresh from the field by G-fresh.
I used 15,000 flowers in total.

This is the Church at the castle of Alden Biesen which was being decorated by Stijn.

Four metal circles were made and covered with jute.
After which with green rope a framework was woven so that a fine net that we used later to weave the flowers.

We created a large pond in the church, 6 by 12 meter. In which we put 6000 liter of water.
After which we placed the Circles in the water and created a base with Smithers Oasis floral foam.

Because the first thing I do every year is put the date of Alden Biesen. I love the atmosphere and meet floral friend. An I try to work every year with my "Dream team".
