"Mono Lisi en Friends Flower Party" by Robin & Dirk van Nuffelen

During Fleuramour 2015 in Alden Biesen the floral designers Robin & Dirk van Nuffelen were asked to create a floral design work in the "Dungeon" of the castle of Alden Biesen.

Last year the decorated the same room Hydrangea circles. The love to work in this room and are masters in lighting the room to create a special atmosphere.

What can you tell us about your project?:

I wanted a combination of two structures, one of which must have been around that symbolizes a cake for the 20th anniversary. We always try to create an object that is balanced and play with the colors available.

How did you incorporate the theme “Party” in your project?:

As mentioned above the round shape symbolizes a cake. And we feel a party without a cake is not a party!

What materials did you work with and why:

Montana Lisianthus en VIP Roses, Nerine,Cymbidium, amarylis, dahlia,hydrangea

in the middle we have worked with lisianthus from Montana, because there are beautiful colors that nicely blend together.

On the outside ring we have worked with different colorful flowers because it symbolizes fireworks.

Super to work with new species VIP Roses, not yet avaialble in the store, but coming soon they promised.

Why did you decide to come to Alden Biesen to work?

Here you can really let your creativity unfold.
You have to unleache your "out of the box thinking". It keeps us creative. Working with flowers is a passion.

And doing large projects like here at Fleuramour is a dream come true. It stimulates me to do something new, something different. We can use this energy and idears in our daily work for our customers in the shop.

Step one: Creating a base structure

it starts with an idea and an empty room.

With first created a rond circle with blocks of Smithers Oasis Floral Foam. To create the outer shape of the "Cake".

Than added the cenntre part of the structure to stand out in the middle.

The last important step for us is creating light in the right places. It always makes a big difference. And as a last check placing the some extra flowers here and there....

And after 3 days and processing 2600 flowers (Thanks you sponsors),we were ready to party..!
