Fleurop - Interflora World Cup Berlin Day 2 by Alex Choi
On the second day of Fleurop Interflora World Cup competition, the designers were asked to undertake two live task which they could prepare at home. First- a revolutionary bouquet 100% Hand-tied. The second assigment of the day was all about creating a 100% organic workpiece that is free of floral foam, wire, or metal.
It was another day with amazing floral design work.. Where the competitors fought to get a spot into the finals. Only ten would make it to the next day....
Flowerweb worked directly with the organisation to make sure we not only show you the end results but also a spep by step from start to finish. We interviewed the competitors to tell us the stories behind the creations and techniques used

Day 2: Second competition task: 100% hand-tied
The second task requires the creation of a revolutionary bouquet that is striking, unique, and never before seen in a time limitof 1 hour.
Barn grass ( setaria italic), we have a deep relationship with the origin of civilization. Because it was the birth of the Yellow River civilization just started years ago.
Even where water is scarce strong and grow well in dry climates.
The contrast of botanical materials and artificial materials
There has for a long time does not change the value of the golden color
It represents a more precious symbolism
조는 우리 문명의 기원과 깊은 관계가 있다. 바로 만년전에 시작된 황하문명을 탄생시킨 곡물이기 때문이다. 건조한 기후에 강하고 물이 부족한 곳에서도 잘 자란다.
보타니칼 소재와 인위적인 소재의 대비와 황금색상의 오랜시간 변하지 않는 가치를 지니고 있어
더욱 귀한 상징성을 나타낸다

As compared to the form of a strong
It will use the flowers as soft
It also appear to express this movement because it is the shape of the wing
형태의 강함을 대비로서 꽃을 소프트한 것으로 사용할것이다
또한 날개의 형상이므로 움직임이 있는 소재로 표현하고자한다

Do not be tied to that of fresh it.
The wind seemed to go whizzing just past that tree branches.
나 자신에게 주고 싶다. 자유롭게 날수 있다는것,
신선한 일을 했다고 해서 그 일에 묶여 있지 말라
바람이 나무 가지를 그냥 스쳐 지나가듯 그렇게 지나가라.


Day 2: Third competition task: 100% organic
Task three relates to freedom by reduction. All of the contestants are required to avoid using any materials that are not recyclable. This is all about creating a 100% organic workpiece that is free of floral foam, wire, or metal.
Korea inspired by the traditional techniques of furniture patch job.
The cutting of the wood logs were connected to each other patch job.
Also it represented a 100% organic natural wood using an old tree and
material obtained from nature:
Artemisia, Gardenia fruit, coffee beans, etc. were using a natural dye
한국 전통적인 기법인 가구의 짜집기에 영감을 얻어
원목 통나무를 제단 하여 서로 짜집기로 연결하였다
또한 자연의 고목 나무를 이용하여 100% 오가닉을 표현했다
자연에서 얻은 재료인 쑥,치자열매,커피콩 등을 사용하여 천연 염색을 하였다

We could do for our environment with little effort the things
I learned that indeed wise.
Environment, our most glorious heritage to pass on to future generations
작은 노력으로 우리의 환경을 위해 할수 있는 일들이
참으로 많다는 것을 알게되었다.
환경, 우리후대에게 물려줄 가장 찬란한 유산이다.
