Fleurop - Interflora World Cup Berlin Day 2 Jürgen Herold
On the second day of Fleurop Interflora World Cup competition, the designers were asked to undertake two live task which they could prepare at home. First- a revolutionary bouquet 100% Hand-tied. The second assigment of the day was all about creating a 100% organic workpiece that is free of floral foam, wire, or metal.
It was another day with amazing floral design work.. Where the competitors fought to get a spot into the finals. Only ten would make it to the next day....
Flowerweb worked directly with the organisation to make sure we not only show you the end results but also a spep by step from start to finish. We interviewed the competitors to tell us the stories behind the creations and techniques used
Below you can see the works results from German competitor Jürgen Herold.

Day 2: Second competition task: 100% hand-tied
The second task requires the creation of a revolutionary bouquet that is striking, unique, and never before seen in a time limitof 1 hour.
It is striking unique iand suprising in the way it is corresponding with the task. I like to look for the new in the ordinary. That is why used the most ordinary material to think of when it comes to hand tieds, Raffia.

It consists of very exeptional wild cut flowers, like Caltha palustris, Chelidonium majus and a few gems, such as Scabiosa, Gloriosa, and Heuchera blossoms. I have been choosing and collecting them just for their look, no subtext, just flowers.

): I would like to give this bouquet to everybody who tends to over think things or to make a fuzz. :”Hey, keep it simple Pal!”

Day 2: Third competition task: 100% organic
Task three relates to freedom by reduction. All of the contestants are required to avoid using any materials that are not recyclable. This is all about creating a 100% organic workpiece that is free of floral foam, wire, or metal.
): The main problem for me was the providing of water for the floral material in the piece. I used bee wax to make a large amount of coloured water tubes by diping glas tubes filled with ice water in to the wax. After that I removed the glas and fixed them into a construction that is inspired by the anathomy of a plants internodia

I discovered that nearly everything is possible if you are with the right people.
