A Glance at Rhodos & Pink Rhodos as De Ruiter prepares for IFTEX 2015
Inline with the forthcoming IFTEX 2015 flower show slated for 3rd - 5th June, De Ruiter East Africa has announced showcase open days at their Naivasha showhouse on 1st-5th and in Timau on 10th-19th June.
We spoke to Edward Manning, Sales Manager at De Ruiter East Afica who noted that among the various commercial and new rose varieties to be highlighted at the showhouse open days and at the IFTEX show are Rhodos® and Pink Rhodos®.
"These varieties have been received very well in the market and have also been proven by growers to be good producers.
Pink Rhodos® has a unique shade of Pink and grows a large attractive head with an average size of 5cm at 1700m altitude. The rose is currently being handled by Optimal Connection in Aalsmere as the primary agent. The rose is a good choice for rose growers in high altitude areas. The stemlength can reach 80cm and above while the vaselife is an average 15 days.
