AQ Roses (Rosa Plaza) receives EHPEA Code of Practice Silver/Global Gap

AQ Roses is the first Ethiopian company to receive the EHPEA Code of Practice Silver / Global Gap. This certificate was handed over to Frank Ammerlaan by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Desalegn, during the HortiFlora Expo in Addis Ababa on 25 March 2015.
Frank: “We are very proud to be the first rose grower who have achieved this certificate in Ethiopia. EHPEA Code of Practice Silver has recently been benchmarked with Global Gap, which is an important certificate that ensures the high level of working on our farm. This certificate is often required by supermarkets.
By this benchmark the EHPEA Code of Practive Silver certificate automatically provides a Global GAP number. For the first time an Ethiopian certificate is benchmarked with an international label.
AQ Roses is convinced that good quality can only be achieved by good working conditions. Frank: “AQ Roses is aware of the importance for a durable and socially acceptable production. Growing roses in a third world country like Ethiopia is only possible when you take your social and environmental responsibility. We also believe if people are satisfied and feel respected, that they make a better product.”
