The indoor hydrangea blooms with white, pink, blue, purple and red umbels with a diameter from 10 cm to as much as 25 cm. Each umbel consists of many small flowers. The young umbels start off green, but then gradually develop colour. The indoor hydrangea is a strong plant which is easy to look after. Water it regularly in order to keep the soil damp. Add liquid plant food to the water once a fortnight. Do not place the hydrangea in direct sunlight.

‘Avantgarde’ is a very distinctive indoor hydrangea. The plant stands out by having one large umbel on a sturdy stem. Place a number of hydrangeas in a row, and you will immediately spot it. The balls can flower several times a year.
