30,000 Colombian Flowers for Good Couple Day

The First Lady of Japan, Akie Abe (as seen above on the right), lent her gracious presence during Asocolflores’ recent campaign to pay tribute to Japanese women in their roles as wives, mothers and family mainstays with the gift of a Colombian flower. Asocolflores chose to kick start its floral meme just before Good Married Couples’ Day by handing out over 30,000 Colombian flowers at Tokyo’s Yurakucho Station last November 19th, 2014.

The First Lady of Japan, Akie Abe visited Colombia, together with her husband, Prime Minster Shinzo Abe in July 2014. She toured flower farms along the Bogota Savannah and got a chance to talk to many workers about the impact of floriculture in rural Colombia.
