"House of Cards" by Erwin Michielsen and Ger Hoebers
Every two years the whole center of a village in the Netherlands called Lottum is decorated with roses. This event called ‘The Rose Festival’. This festival is a must for rose lovers because you can see millions of roses in this village. Roses are processed in various show gardens and decorated objects. The theme of the festival this year was: " Roses steal the show".

Florale Vormgevers: Erwin Michielsen and Ger Hoebers, in collaboration with Moniek Koopmans have managed a three-day spectacle and stole the show with this design! The element of this year was Las Vegas. The designers created a casino in the village named “House of Cards”. The " House of Cards " had a heartwarming atmosphere.
The flower designers wanted to create a special experience for the visitors. With many roses, feathers, glamour and glitter, the audience experiences the world of showbiz Las Vegas.
For many of the creations at the festival the flowers are the central point, but the arrangement can be very static. At the "House of Cards" Erwin & Ger added a floral theater and dance factor so that the visitors could really experience Las Vegas!

The design was inspired by playing cards of a casino, and in particular the "Queen of Hearts" With creative use of Red Naomi roses of Porta Nova floral hearts plating cards were created.
In total the "Florale Vormgevers" have made 120 playing cards with Red Naomi roses and used more than 12.000 roses for the casino, decoration and show.
For a event like The Rose Festival it is important that the quality of all the Red Noami roses are the same and stay beautiful during the whole Event. As they did not want to take any risk with an event like this, they choose for de Red Naomi roses of Porta Nova.
