Kenya Loses duty free access to EU market – FAQs by Fleurs Union

Fleurs Union released a set of FAQs on the import of cutflowers from Kenya under the EU GSP, which boldly but comprehensively capture the unfortunate turn of events in the Kenyan Floricultural Industry. Preceding the FAQs, the document states that it is now inevitable that Kenyan flowers will lose their duty-free access to the EU market on 1 October 2014 and instead be charged with EU GSP duties.
According to Union Fleurs Secretary General Sylvie Mamias, The FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) aim to clarify the points in question and support Union Fleur members in their preparation for the likely imposition of duties on Kenyan cut flowers from 1 October.
