The Kenya Flower Council (KFC) in conjunction with the European Union will hold a floriculture stakeholders forum on Tuesday July 8, 2014 in Kenya's Nakuru themed ‘Giving Kenya’s Flowers the Competitive Edge in the EU Market’.
The half-day Forum will bring together key floriculture stakeholders to mainly discuss, among other prominent industry issues, the looming EA EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and the East African Community, with a view to provide an update on the negotiations.
As the key network in the flower industry, KFC is keen to support in the resolution of any outstanding issues and signing of the EPAs, failure to which would lead to the imposition of significant EU import duties on Kenya’s floriculture exports, ultimately undermining Kenya’s competitiveness and market shares for its main flower market.
The forum will be graced by the Governor of the County Government of Nakuru H.E. Kinuthia Mbugua.
