AGRIFLOR 2014 HEADING FOR A FULL HOUSE!

Quito, May 8. Ecuador’s International flower trade exhibition has almost reached a 100% occupancy. Only 8 stand spaces are still available for growers or suppliers who still may wish to exhibit. The interest to participate is higher than ever and for this reason the floor plan is nearly full already 5 months before the opening of the show. The exhibition is the largest flower growers trade event in the world.

The size of the exhibition is even double the size of the one which is ranked number 2 on the list of biggest trade expo’s in the field of floriculture. The number of visitors who are expected to attend this year is also larger than ever before and reconfirms the importance of Ecuador being one of the (if not number one) leading suppliers of fresh cut flowers, especially roses, in the world.
Preparations are in full swing and on schedule. Farm tours are being programmed, quality competitions for growers as well as for breeders are already set up, a special committee for the programming of the official Fair Celebrations has been installed and of course, last but not least, the exhibition itself is getting ready slowly but steady for the grand opening on Wednesday October 1.
Having its origin back in 1992, when the first Agriflor was held in Hotel Oro Verde in Quito, the fair moved to CEMEXPO in 2001 and has built its success since then. This year will be the 15th edition and therefore a landmark to be proud of.

A selection of leading international industry journalists have been invited to attend this year’s fair to make sure that this fair receives the coverage it deserves. For this reason a special program will be prepared for them during the week of the show. Journalists of USA, Russia, Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy, Holland, Spain, France, Poland, among others, will be invited to see and report on what Ecuador has to offer to the world in the field of cut flowers. This promotion of Ecuador’s Flower Industry will surely lead to further increase of exports and an even better image of one of world’s most beautiful flower producing nations.
