Troubled Karuturi Flower farm placed under receivership
The fate of Workers at the Kenyan farm unknown

Flower production volumes in Kenya is facing a major setback after one of the top rose producers Karuturi Farm was recently placed under receivership. The announcement made only two days before Valentine's Day, which is a peak season, will see the fate of more than 3000 workers go from bad to worse.
The company has been unable to adequately pay its workers and has in the recent past been at loggerheads with the Kenya Plantation and Agricultural Workers Union. It also delayed payment to its trade partners leading to its receivership status.
In this regard, CFC bank concluded an out of court receivership appointment naming Kieran Day and Ian Smalls of financial services firm The Business Advisory Group, the receiver managers of the flower farm business.
