Employees FloraHolland most likely go on strike Thursday night because the Flower auction does not address the demands of the unions . That's what Kitty Huntjens , director of CNV Services , said Tuesday.
The unions had given the company an ultimatum that ran until Tuesday .
'' Flora Holland says that our demands are unrealistic and does not want to comment. The militancy among workers is very large ,'' said Huntjens .
The main requirement of the unions is a better severance in the new social plan for FloraHolland . The company and the unions are not on speaking term about the social plan since the end of November as negotiations stalled.
FNV let know that the measure of workers is full . " On the night of Thursday to Friday upcoming 24 hours will be stopped ," says director Celil Coban .
FloraHolland director Buchwaldt find it irresponsible for employees , the company and the industry to threaten strikes now. "At this time, all parties realized a significant portion of their revenues for the full year," says Buchwaldt .
He is referring to February 14 when the flower sector is generally making higher sales for Valentine's Day. FloraHolland expects for that week with 135 million weekly turnover and a half times as large as in an average week .
Buchwaldt says he is well aware that the layoffs could affect the employees . Huge personal consequences " We make these choices in the future to keep employees healthy FloraHolland and for our growers and traders . "
Employees expected to lay down their work on three of the five locations of FloraHolland in Aalsmeer , Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg . FloraHolland has a total of approximately 3,650 people.
