German Federal Agriculture Minister Friedrich to officially open the IPM ESSEN

Hans-Peter Friedrich (Federal Minister of Agriculture) will open IPM ESSEN which will take place at Messe Essen on January 28 - 31. The world's premier fair will once again present itself as the most important ordering platform for horticulture. It will offer trade visitors from all over the world a unique overview of the market and will show innovative new products. IPM ESSEN will be an indispensable meeting place of the green sector. Other politicians will use the opening ceremony of the fair: Johannes Remmel (North Rhine-Westphalia Minister of Agriculture) will hand over the NRW Horticultural Prize 2014 and Anthea McIntyre (Member of the EU Parliament) will deliver a welcoming address to the representatives of the sector. Krystyna Gurbiel (Vice-Minister of Agriculture in Poland) will be expected as another guest.

At IPM ESSEN, 1,550 exhibitors from 45 nations will show their products and services from the Plants, Technology, Floristry and Equipment sections. In addition to the complete diversity of plants and flowers, the floristry highlights and the newest trends from technology, equipment and services, a large number of national and international associations will be represented too. Thus, IPM ESSEN will be more than a pure ordering fair: The trade visitors will use it as an important meeting place in order to maintain and consolidate business contacts and to obtain information about innovations and market chances. For example, the Horticultural Forum will be devoted to the business possibilities in Turkey. Numerous competitions will highlight exceptional new plants for the international market. With flowery design and display ideas, top-class florists from all over the world will provide stimuli with regard to how cut flowers and plants can be marketed successfully in the retail flower trade.

Trade visitors from over 100 countries will be expected on the occasion of IPM ESSEN and will obtain information, place orders and exchange ideas.

IPM ESSEN at Messe Essen will be open exclusively to trade visitors every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on January 28 - 31.
