New General Manager of FloraHolland

FloraHolland, 31 October 2013 (press release) - In consultation with the Supervisory Board, the Board of FloraHolland has appointed Lucas Vos as the new General Manager as of 1 January 2014. He succeeds Timo Huges, who took on his new role as NS (Dutch railways) CEO as per 1 October 2013.
Lucas Vos (46) studied economics in Groningen and is vastly experienced in transport and logistics. During the course of the past 20 years, Lucas has made a career in the shipping and logistical services sectors and his latest position was that of Chief Commercial Officer on the Board of Maersk Line.
As of 1 January 2014, the statutory management within the new management structure is comprised of two members: Lucas Vos as the new General Manager and Rens Buchwaldt as Financial Director. As of 1 January, Erik Leeuwaarden will focus on the real estate and holdings portfolios.
Chairman of the Board Bernard Oosterom: "The Board and the Supervisory Board are extremely pleased with this nomination of Lucas Vos. FloraHolland's challenge is to offer services to its members and buyers that reflect the changed market situation and to adapt the cooperative to this new state of affairs. Lucas' background and experience are ideally suited to the new course that FloraHolland has embarked on."
