Assignments Interflora World Cup - Caroline Looi Sooi Hing, Malaysia
At the second day the designers have to make two assignments. The first is a table arrangement, named 'Green Tea for Two'. On a round table they have to create their masterpiece in two hours time, taking into account that the maximum height is two meters. The second preliminary event is a bridal bouquet with no size restrictions, but obviously the 'Oriental Pearl Bride' must still be able to carry the designers creation.
Green Tea for Two
The layout of this design is brought out by the twists and turns of numeral 8. The figure of 8 can be formed from a metal strip joint end to end to form a ring and twisting the ring to form an 8. In a way one could travel along 8 indefinitely and hence 8 symbolizes eternity and infinity. In Chinese culture, numeral 8 is auspicious. Metallic wires, strips and meshes are the main elements used to form a three-dimensional structure to create an impression of line, surface, space and depth. To soften the metallic character and to give an enhanced sense of harmony, colors of light pink tone and different shades of green are chosen so that guests will naturally settle down to q quiet mood to enjoy their tea. Oh, what and auspicious eternity green tea for two!

I prefer to have an old couple here for tea as marriage is sacred and staying together for life is something to treasure and since my 8 is for eternity, I like to have my blessings for them.
