General Director Timo Huges is leaving FloraHolland

After more than 7 years Timo Huges is resigning from his General Director position at FloraHolland. Effective October 1, 2013 he will appointed CEO of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch Railways). Timo served as General Director of Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer from 2006 to 2008 and as General Director of Royal FloraHolland from 2008 to 2013.
Timo Huges: "I am leaving this sector and its innovative and passionate entrepreneurs with a heavy heart. It has been a great pleasure to put all my energy into working with my colleagues in the auction over the past seven years. In the knowledge that the Cooperative and the company are solid, I feel I can accept the position at the NS.
Bernard Oosterom, Chairman of the Board: "We regret but respect Timo's decision. Timo has contributed much to the industry since his arrival in 2006. After the merger he has strenuously worked to bring together the auctions to become a true international trading platform. With vision and enthusiasm he has directed our cooperative company and further improved the position of our members. It is unfortunate to have to bid Timo farewell. We thank him for his immense dedication and wish him all the best".
The Board will reflect on Timo's succession.
