IFTEX 2017 saw De Ruiter East Africa make a splendid presentation of their various rose varieties. The breeder also hosted visitors at their Naivasha farm for open days before during and after the show.
In the past few years De Ruiter has embarked on enhancing its assortment particularly with their new Big Five selection of Red roses. The ‘Big Five’ includes three well established red varieties (Rhodos, Ever Red and Red Kamala) and two new varieties (The Spectre and Cupido) which are currently being trialed by several African growers.
De Ruiter is not only introducing new varieties in the red segment, the company is also active in the pink segment. In addition to the existing variety Pink Rhodos, a mutant of the well-known red variety, Wham, Celeb, Opala and London Eye are also presented to the market. In the special shape segment, the Vuvuzela range and X-pression are popular choices, characterized by their bud shape and color combination.
Here are some of the varieties that were on display at the De Ruiter stand during IFTEX 2017
